About Happy Time Tours

about usWelcome to Happy Time Tours, a company specializing in soft adventure tours, ski/boarding and sightseeing trips. We also give particular attention to our non-skiing trip participants to assure they have an outstanding sightseeing trip.

Happy Time Tours has organized trips since 1979. In the early years most of our trips were to Quebec, Canada. However, in the past 33 years we have organized two trips per year to such exciting destinations as: Bormio, Cortina, Courmayeur, Val Di Fassa (Italy) - Chamonix, Val d'Isere, Val Thornes, Courchevel, Méribel, Les Menuires, Tignes (France) - Zurs, Lech, St Anton, St Christoph, Innsbruck, (Austria) - St Moritz, Verbier, Interlaken, (Switzerland) - Sierra Nevada, (Spain) - Andorra, Whistler/Blackcomb, British Columbia, (Canada) - Mt. Norquay, Lake Louise, Sunshine, Banff, Alberta, (Canada) and Garmish (Germany). Add on cities have included Rome, Venice, Florence, Italy, Paris, France, Barcelona, Costa Del Sol, Spain, Amsterdam, Netherlands, Prague, Czech Republic, Budapest, Hungary, and Vienna, Austria.

Val Di Fassa
Last year's Ski Trip February 25 - March 10, 2011 to Val Di Fassa in the Italian Dolomites, with the add-on of Florence and Rome was a huge success. We had plenty of fresh new snow to enjoy and the conditions were excellent. The group enjoyed themselves and had permanent smiles on their face the intire week.

We departed from Logan/Boston on Alitalia Airlines arriving in Rome with a connecting flight in Venice where we boarded our private bus to Val Di Fassa, a quaint little town which we all quickly fell in love with. The people at all the restaurants and shops were so friendly they could not do enough to make us all happy with directions and suggestions. Val Di Fassa with 460 lifts and over 230 square miles of trails. I would not hesitate to recommend this quaint little ski town to anyone.

We enjoyed our Hotel Gran Baita Villa hospitality and friendly staff certainly deserving of its four stars. The meals were very good and the wine was outstanding. No one left the table early or hungry. Our group was always the last to leave the dining room.

We skied our legs off with 230 miles of trails, everyone slept well that's for sure. I believe that most of the group skied the famous Stella Ronda. This trail is 26 miles long and goes through many villages with over 20 lifts to ride, it's an all day run and lots of fun.

We organized a side trip to Bolzano, Italy. We went to the South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology, home of Otzi, the Iceman. The Museum is new and Otzi, the Iceman is in his climate controlled room looking very good for a man 5,300 years old

On March 5, we said good bye to our lovely hotel and departed by bus to Florence for a two day visit. We checked into our Four Star, Hotel Palazzo Ricasoli. What a wonderful place and so easy to get to all the attractions of Florence. We visited the Churches, Museums and strolled the Ponte Vecchio Bridge. It was a very warm day and everyone was dressed in shorts, seemed like the first day of summer. The restaurants were outstanding.

After Florence, we boarded our bus for a wonderful sightseeing trip to Rome. We stayed three days at the Four Star, Hotel Universo. Rome is a magical city. I will never get tired of visiting Rome. I have been 6-7 times and always see something new. I've also gone to the Sistine Chapel every time and I'm always astounded by its beauty. We strolled around the Vatican and metthe group back at St. Peters Square. Every morning at breakfast each person claimed the restaurant they ate at the previous night was the best. Honestly, I believe there isn't a bad restaurant in Rome.

On March 10th 2011, we all boarded our Alitalia flight back to the states. We were all exhausted, full of fond memories of Italy and hopefully looking forward to next year's adventure.

Big Sky
Last year's trip to Big Sky (the second year in a row) March 20-27, 2011 was truly a dream come true for skiers and boarders. The snow was perfect we had new snow every day.

Big Sky motto The Biggest Skiing in America is absolutely true with 4,350 feet of vertical, 5,512 acres 400 plus inches of snow. Last year voted most popular resort for America s ski clubs.

familyWhat a mountain we all skied and boarded our legs off. There were very few skiers/boarders there, so we were able to just lap our runs, at the end of the day we would all get together in the pool or the Chet Huntley lounge and relive every run. A run off the top of Lone Peak was a challenge; I believe everyone did it at least once.

This year's trip to Big Sky March 27- April 3, 2012 will be our third year in a row just about the same week why mess up a good thing.

We will also be staying at the Huntley lodge again with the following amenities, fine dining room, lounge, coffee cart concierge, meeting rooms, Spa, ski in ski out, rooms feature a wet bar, coffee maker with coffee, refrigerator, TV and seating area, lodge also features two heated swimming pools and two Jacuzzis, weight room and saunas. Hotel is managed by the most helpful friendly staff I have ever had the opportunity to work with.

Remember the lift tickets are complimentary for those guest staying at the Huntley Lodge, with a seasons pass for Sunday River, Sugarloaf, Loon please check out my web site for details.

We keep our group sizes low to help keep the cost down and still take advantage of group pricing. We have one escort per 20 trip participants. When you have made your decision to travel, don’t delay in booking—the particular trip you want could fill up and you may be disappointed. If you are hesitant to register for a trip because of some unforeseen situation please register and at the same time apply for trip insurance. Trip insurance will reimburse you for trip expenses in case of an emergency and you are unable to join the group.

We act as the booking agent for the group making sure everyone receives all the tour features listed in their trip itinerary. We strongly recommend trip insurance and give all participants the necessary insurance application. Happy Time Tours is a representative for Travel Guard Insurance Co. We can offer trip insurance for all out trips and any other trip you may decide to take.

Please review our Terms and Conditions before registering for any trip to avoid any misunderstandings.
